THE COMPANY


Müuval Collective is a contemporary dance company that investigates several kinetic, visual and auditory stimulus in order to create an honest and human language that encourages the possibilities of movement of both the creator and the interpreter.

Since 2006, supported by the London Contemporary School, the Instituto de la Juventud and the Coordinación Nacional de Danza, we have presented our work in alternative spaces such as Faro de Oriente, subway station Chabacano, the Zócalo, among others, as well as Foro Experimental, Foro Antonio López Mancera, Teatro de la Danza, Teatro Carlos Lazo and Auditorio Nacional; moreover we have been in charge of the International Exchange Festival Müuval.

In 2009 Müuval receives the support from México en escena by the Coordinación Nacional de danza for the realisation of the IV Internacional Exchange Festival Müuval 2009. This same year Müuval performs several presentations during the program “En la profundidad del Reflejo” at the “Foro Los Talleres” during the Nueva Sangre season and the company is selected to participate at the Festival Cervantino Callejero CLETA.





AURA LOPEZ
EXECUTIVE AND ARTISTIC DIRECTOR


She is graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School with a BA in Contemporary Dance, specialized in Contact Improvisation. She began her dance studies at Centro Cultural Los Talleres. She also realized the preparatory course at the Centro de Investigación Coreográficas (CICO) and participated in various workshops at the summer school of José Limón in New York City, where she was established in 2003 for her specialization (PSP) in Technical Limon and Ballet, imparted by the Limón Institute and Peridance Center.
In 2006 she worked as dancer with L'Espace Compagnia di Danza di Palermo. Aura has taught, choreographed and danced in Italy, Mexico, USA and England. She has worked with the creators Carlos Orta, Brenna Monroe, Jean de Shynkel, Ana Gonzalez, Charles Linehan and Giovanni Zapulla. Currently, she is international promoter of Tandem Dance Co.
Aura teaches at the Instituto de la Juventud and studies her postgraduate studies in political and cultural management. She is interested in alternative spaces and in pursuit and development of individual movement.





CARLOS CERVANTES
SCENOGRAPHY DIRECTOR












He is graduated of the Bachelor of Physical Education at the Universidad del Fútbol y Ciencia del Deporte, that it is part of the promoter of the Mexican Football Soccer Club Pachuca.
He took classes of corporal expression, psychomotricity and gymnastics. In 2004 he founded the group Makako Cocoa, an African percussion ensemble, it appeared in some public places in Oaxaca and Pachuca. In 2006 he organized an intercultural summer course in Oaxaca. In the same year he obtained a BA in Physical Education with a thesis work focused on social issues with a genre perspective in a comparative study.
At the end of 2006, he took the charge of methodology in the physical preparation of archery team in the state of Hidalgo.
In 2007 he returned to live in Mexico City where he restarted his architecture studies, looking for the creation of an architecture merging different disciplines such as physical, psychomotor and artistic activities.






GILDA BARBOSA
INTERPRETER






She began her dance studies at the Dance Contemporary School of the Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, where she danced with the company Espacios Abiertos, directed by Isandra Reyes, and with the group Veracruz 2000 under the direction of Luis Manuel Cruz.
In the same year she took classes of Cuban modern dance, Afro-Cuban folklore, choreographic composition, art history, kinesiology and ballet, at the Instituto Superior de Arte and at the Escuela Nacional de Danza in Havana, Cuba; also she took contemporary dance classes in Narciso Medina Dance Company. In Mexico she has taken classes of jazz, ballet, contemporary dance, Horton, Cuban and Francis techniques, contact improvisation, release, hip hop, Feldenkrais and acrobatics. Gilda undertook the summer course Total Dance 2003, she danced with the company Chocolate con Leche directed by Erick Tepal between 2004 and 2006, and with the dance company Fuera de Centro leaded by the choreographer Alberto de Leon from 2007 to 2008.
She is currently studying the career of Physiotherapy at the Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación.
