With the support of London Contemporary Dance School, the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia, the Instituto nacional de la Juventud, the Delegación Coyoacán y en Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes though the Escuela de Folklor and the Ex-Esmerala we have consolidated as a company. At the same time we have managed, since 2006 the International Exchange Festival Müuval that consist on:
• Intensive summer workshop
• Where local and international dancers and choreographers can exchange, collaborate and share dance.
• The residence for foreigner dancers and choreographers that travel to Mexico to create collaborative pieces with young dancers and choreographers from de independent dance community, with the aim to manage a cultural exchange of knowledge and experience of the international world of Contemporary Dance. The rehearsals would be from 20th of July to the 24th of August including performances and the rehearsal times will be from 11:00 to 14:00hrs

LINNEA GUNNESSON, Sweden
Dancer and Choreographer. She started dancing
Contemporary Dance, Ballet and Jazz in Sweden at “Danshuset” where
she also participated in several seasons with Theatre Tir Na Nog
and the choreographer Eileen Jones. Between 1991-2001 she trained
rhythmic gymnastics, Linnea got to compete in Sweden, Holland
and Japan. She has also taught rhythmic gymnastics for two years
in Gothenburg. In 2004 she begun her studies at London Contemporary
Dance School, The Place were she graduated with a BA degree in
Contemporary Dance.
She has been trained in Release – Based
Technique, Limon, Cunningham, contact and improvisation. She has
dance work from Richard Alston, Hofesh Shelter, Jan De Shynkel
etc. Some of her main teachers have been: Jovair Longo, Rick Nodine,
Sean Feldman and Kerry Nicholls.
IDA KLARA JOHANSSON, Sweden
Dancer, Improviser and Choreographer. She started her studies in Contemporary Dance, Jazz and Ballet in Sweden Kulturskolan and later Per Brahe Gymnasiet. She trained for one year at Balett Akademien in Umeå, Sweden where she studied Contemporary, Jazz and Ballet. She has worked as dancer with the Jazz Kompaniet lead by the choreographer Jakob Valentin, and done a Contemporary project with the choreographer Sofie Pallander. Ida is graduated from London Contemporary Dance School, The Place where she obtained a BA Honours degree in Contemporary Dance. She has taught initial dance at the Balett Akademien Umeå, and taught some Workshops at Per Brahe Gymnaiset, Sweden.
She is a trained dancer
in Release-Based Technique, Limon, Contact-Improvisation, Improvisation, Choreography
and Composition. She has choreographed pieces and performed them
in London and Sweden. Some of her main teachers have been; Kerry Nicholls,
Jovair Longo, Karen Greenhough, Rick Nodine and Sean Feldman.
SIRI PERSSON, Sweden
Dancer and Choreographer. She started her education
in Contemporary Dance in Umeå, Sweden
in 2003. In 2004 she started her full-time
training in Contemporary Dance at The Place,
London Contemporary Dance School where she
graduated with a honours degree. For 5 years
Siri was a dancer member of Morau Swedish
Dance Company in Lund directed by Mia Morau
with performances in Copenhagen, Malmö and
Lund. In 2003/2004 she danced with Balettakademien
Umeås Jazz Company led by Jakob Valentin.
Some of her choreographic works are: Lilith,
Miss S and Locked in locked out.
She has
been trained in Cunningham, Ballet, Feldenkrais
and released-based techniques. Some of her
teachers have been: Kjell Nilsson, Jovair
Longo, Karen Greenhough, Jan de Schynkel
and Jennifer-Lynn Crawford. As a dancer Siri
is influenced by her interest in philosophy
and psychology. At the moment she investigates
how abstract movements can bring out the
most honest human expressions in dancers.
SOFIA ROMANO, Sweden
Dancer and Performer. She started her training
in Ballet and Contemporary Dance in Sweden at the Agnebergsgymnasiet
in Uddevalla, where she was studying drama at the same time. In
2002 she began her studies at the Ballet Akademienalso in Sweden
and graduated after completing her three years of training. In
2006 she attended the Certificate of Higher Education course at
The Place, London Contemporary Dance School, where she trained
Release-Based technique, Cunningham, Contact-Improvisation, improvisation
and TCR (teaching and rehearsal skills).
Sofia has danced in several
performances in Sweden and worked with different Choreographers
such as Johan Stillbäck, Travis Burch, and Mauro Rojas. In
London she has had the opportunity to perform in different dance
pieces at Robin Howard Theatre. She has also participated in different
research projects with Hanna Gillgren and Tom Rodan. Some of her
teachers have been Jovair Longo, Rick Nodine and Jan De Shynkel.
CARLOS ROJAS CORREA, Mexico
Dancer and Choreographer: He is graduated
from the Centro de Educación Artística (CEDART) “Frida
Khalo” He initiated studying choreography in CICO (Centro
de Investigacion Coreográfica). Since 2005 he became former
dancer and collaborator of the independent dance group “Luna
Roja” Danza Contemporánea under the artistic direction
of Ana Gonzalez. He has danced in diverse theatres around Mexico
and Spain. During the last years Carlos has been teaching Contemporary
Dance in the Centro Cultural Los Talleres, Centre of Artistic Initiation
and CICO-INBA. He has completed diverse workshops with members of
the Jose Limon Company: Jim May, Ann Vachon and with the Canadian
choreographer Meter Chin.
Some of his main teachers are: Ana Gonzáles
(Limón), Jenet Tame (Topf), Jean Haw (Graham), Andrea Zavala
(Horton, Release, Graham) and Marina Acevedo. Carlos is interested
in the investigation and development of improvisation in alternative
spaces –open or close- such as squares, parks, museums; as
well as the internal impulses as a detonator of movement.
MATTHEW HUY, USA
Dancer and Choreographer. He began studying
dance at the tender age of 20 when he took his first Jazz class
at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo. Some years later, he
earned his Bachelor of Arts in Dance at California State University
Long Beachstudying under Douglas Nielsen and Susan McLain direction.
Mathew has worked all around USA with choreographers such as Louise
Reichlin of Los Angeles and Takuya Muramatsu of Dairakudakan Butoh
Company and has performed in the dance film Slip directed
by Jeanette Ginsolv. He has also studied and worked as a lighting
designer, yoga teacher and Pilates teacher. Matthew currently
lives in London and his main interest in dance lies in Release-
based technique and improvisation.
